Thorough, concise summary of the recording arts that is interesting and easy to understand.

While trying to learn how to operate the sound board at my church, I found this book extremely helpful and interesting. I started reading it and couldn't put it down until the very end. Not only did it explain the history of recording, but it also explained in simple terms the physics of sound as well as the physiology of the ear and hearing. It contained many practical applications on how to create a better acoustic experience, such as how to place the monitors correctly and how to avoid sound distortions. I am very impressed with how this book covers all aspects of sound recording. I highly recommend this book to musicians, recording artists, sound board engineers, and anyone working in the recording arts industry.
