Great selection of algebra problems.

This is an excellent set of algebra problems to work through. Dr. McKibben has clearly given a great deal of thought to crafting these problems. If you work through them, you will have mastered algebra.
I have worked through all 1001 problems, and I would like to re-iterate that this is an outstanding selection of problems. I have found a few errata (in the 1st Edition) that I wish to point out for the benefit of the next reader:
Page 11, Problem #86 is incorrectly identified as #84.
Page 11, Problem #87, the correct answer is 96. The book's answer (page 159) indicates that 2^-(-2) = 1/4. It is 4 because the negative signs cancel.
Page 12, Problem #101, the correct answer is 128x^15. The book's answer (page 160) indicates that 8*16 = 64.
Page 125, Problem #843, a "4" in the problem should be a "y". It is correct in the answer key on Page 246.
Page 132, Problem #884, the "question" is the answer.
Page 144, Problem #950, answers (a) and (b) are identical.

Useful but Needs Proofreading

Seems useful, but it needs more careful proofreading. I got the book for some extra help with matrix algebra. For two of the first few problems posed in the matrix algebra section, the answers section presented a solution to a slightly but significantly different problem. This book isn't as carefully prepared or as helpful as Kelley's The Humongous Book of Algebra problems, but McKibben's book provides additional exercises and a slightly different point of view.
