Excellent Exam Book for the NCLEX-PN test - includes Digital Version and a DVD

Years ago, I regretted not taking a Kaplan course for my SAT. I scored lower than I should have and when I went for my master's, I made sure to take the Kaplan course for the GRE. It really helped me score high. What's great about Kaplan is that they teach you how to look beyond the test and get the correct answers by thinking critically rather than just memorizing a bunch of facts. Barron's and Princeton Review also publish helpful test guides, but I found Kaplan's to be far more savvy in showing you the right way to think so that you have the highest likelihood of getting the correct answer.
This NCLEX-PN book offers a combination of great advice, helpful techniques and strategies, and even a strong dose of positive thinking. This book contains a DVD, 2 practice tests (one for pen or pencil, the other online only), strategies for success, a detailed analysis of what kinds of questions to expect (grouped by category), and even overviews for what the test does or doesn't do, the differences between various kinds of nurses, and even a section devoted to helping nurses from other countries interested in passing the U.S. exam.
What I like about this study guide is that you can download the entire book to your tablet or smartphone and read it on the go (the link and textbook code in inside the book). In addition, it includes a DVD that offers two video lessons to help you master the exam. With the two practice exams, the authors recommend you do the computer test first, because it can analyze your weaknesses and strengths so that you can apply this knowledge to the pen and paper version.
Overall I was very pleased with this book - my only quibble is that I wish it contained more than 2 exams for the price.

Great Study Tool

Good resource to have on hand for this particular exam. Contains a DVD, 2 practice tests, one in the book and one online, analysis of all question types, review of alternative format questions, detailed rationales, techniques for the computer adaptive test, strategies for success and a 27 item sample of the NCLEX-PN question bank. Gives a list of Pearson Professional Centers offering NCLEX-PN examinations, has a large index of nursing terminology in the back. The DVD included features NCLEX preparation expert Judith Burckhardt, PhD RN and presents two video lesson to help you master the exam. The three authors and contributors are directors and deans of the nursing and health programs for Kaplan higher education campuses. Pretty thorough and useful tool to have if you're going to take this test.

Helped me Pass on the first try

Love this book, great for a student who has no idea about how to approach the NCLEX. I took my NCLEX-PN 9/3/2015 and got my Quick results yesterday which was a Saturday for the 48 hrs does include weekend even though it is stated they only post them during business days. I passed my first time. Awesome Sauce!!!! This is the book I used and a content review book. Both helped me big time.
